Keeping the Jewish Home Jewish, The importance of keeping Anti-Torah Influences out of our Home Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Hi Everyone, and welcome to the TorahArt Blog! It is our hope that here you will find a nice forum to discuss a range of topics that affect Jews all over. In particular today we’ll discuss ways to insure that the Jewish Home remains exactly that a “Jewish” Home, devoid of all the negativities that the Anti-Torah world has to offer. For starters let’s talk about a seemingly innocent but potentially dangerous swcurity gap- the mailbox. Like it or not chances are that your name and address have made their way to a myriad of mailing lists. In turn Mail-order companies will spam your mail box on a daily basis (unfortunately as of this posting a spam filters for our home maiboxes has yet to be developed….). What’s in the mail? All forms of immorality and filth that many frum Jews would never willingly invite into their homes, but unwittingly do so by bringing in the mail. In turn, children are exposed to pictures and content they shouldn’t be seeing. And contrary to popular belief Adult males are tested just the same by these issues. Even Women are influenced from the immodest ads that are so glibly presented on the glossy pages of these Anti-Torah publications. Certainly TV sets have no place in the Jewish Home. As one Rabbi once put it-“Believe me your child isn’t watching Channel 13” (NY based Educational Channel). The dangers of Internet in the home (not to mention the workplace) is well known. The Jewish Home has been insular for generations, and cannot be compromised. The very continuity of Our People depends on its purity. The Jewish Home deserves better. Your home deserves better. | |||
